Description:

Clay is the way! Teens can learn the basics of throwing on the potter’s wheel, or dive into hand-building if preferred. Hand-building topics cover pinching, coiling, and slab building, while wheel lessons cover centering, opening the clay, and raising the walls. Our instructor emphasizes freedom of expression and exploration in each project, with surface decoration woven into lessons. Many students love taking this class a few times, as practice and repetition in an instructor-led environment build real skill and confidence. Cheer on your fellow makers, have fun, and share your questions, needs, and curiosities with our local K-12 arts educator.
