Need Financial Help?

Visual Art Institute has an open-door policy to art education. We provide financial assistance every year to students 18 and under, who have the desire to excel in the visual arts.

Jeffery Hampshire received financial assistance to attend classes at the Visual Art Institute. He loves the school and has served as one of our valued instructors.

Jeff started taking art classes at VAI in seventh grade, when his middle school art teacher Bruce Robertson invited him to join the after school program. Jeff participated in a variety of classes at VAI all the way through high school. He graduated with his Bachelor of Fine Arts from BYU in 2021. After graduation, he was an Artist-in-Residence at Bountiful Davis Art Center. During that time, he also taught weekly classes at VAI, as well as workshops for local at-risk populations through VAI’s outreach partnerships. Jeff is currently pursuing his Master’s degree out of state. We have treasured working together with him, and admire his creative curiosity, work ethic, and enthusiasm for teaching!

“Many of the summer programs and other classes helped round me out in artistic ability. But for me personally, the staff was able to connect and take an interest in me not only as a student but as a person. VAI gave me confidence in my art and in myself.” – Jeffery Hampshire
