Description:

Students design and produce an original board game under the teacher’s guidance, working across multiple areas of visual design. Board game layout is introduced as an exercise in composition and spatial planning. It will also help to show the importance of consistency of style and repetition or patterns, and to gain a beginner’s understanding of visual hierarchy. Students will end the semester with a working game, game pieces, and rules that are personally crafted and tested to ensure playability.
