Coreen C.

Coreen was a student at the Visual Art Institute from age 7 to 18. She went on to study Psychology and Fine Art at The University of California, Santa Cruz. When asked about her time as a student at VAI, Coreen said:

“The high-quality, formal training at VAI was so warmly balanced with playfulness and the raw creativity that comes from being a kid. This special mix nurtured me into a fulfilling creative career as an adult—where I can both focus deeply on my work, while staying inspired and joyful.”

Coreen went on to earn a Master’s Degree in Visual Communication and Interaction Design from the University of Washington in Seattle. She taught various design courses at UW for a few years after graduating. She is now working as a product design director for a company that produces software which reduces energy costs and tracks carbon footprint.
