Drawing (Perspective) with Bruce Robertson
Perspective drawing is one of the great innovations of the Renaissance. We take the depiction of three-dimensional space for granted, but it still is one of the skills that elude many artists. We will study the basics of Perspective Drawing using architecture as the primary subject matter. Students will learn to depict interiors, as an Interior Designer might, and exteriors as would an Architect. We will also explore the impact that perspective has on the full range of 2-D artwork. Students will learn to look more closely at spatial relationships within the over all composition of a drawing or painting. Command of perspective drawing will enable a student to be more versatile in their creative capability by opening possibilities to spatial manipulation.

Printmaking (Collograph) with Lenka Konopasek
Collographs are visually striking prints that closely resemble monoprints. This process creates images by utilizing a variety of textures and low-relief surfaces. This surface is then sealed and printing ink is then rubbed over the surface. This image is then covered with printmaking paper and run through a press. The image is transferred to the paper in the form of a collography print. This process is repeated to create a series of images that can vary widely. This is a unique art form, which lends itself very well to exploration of color and composition. Student knowledge of the possibilities for creative expression will expand by learning collography printmaking methods.
