$19 per class session • full semester commitment essential • 15 weeks is $285

FALL SEMESTER elementary students

Elementary Classes • 4:30-6pm in Sugar House & 4-5:30pm in Sandy
Supplies are included in the tuition fee for elementary students

Mondays • Intro to Drawing
Suggested for first time students of VAI. Teaches the basic concepts and techniques of making art through drawing

Tuesdays • Found Object Sculpture
This class will center on sculpture techniques including form, volume, material, texture, shape, and construction methods.

Wednesdays • Colored Pencil Drawing
Through this course students will learn how to develop drawings using colored pencils, while exploring line, color, shading, value, and more.

 

Thursdays • Sketchbook
Students will explore a variety of mediums, techniques, and subject matter while developing their creative ideas in their own sketchbook.

FALL SEMESTER Jr. High & High School Students

Jr. High & High School Classes • 4:30-6:30pm in Sugar House & 4-6pm in Sandy
Jr. High & High School students provide their own supplies (instructors will provide a list of suggested supplies).

Mondays • Claymation
Through this class students will learn animation techniques including scripting, storyboarding, and recording, through creating their own short claymation.

 

Tuesdays • Screen-printing
This class will teach students the fundamentals of screen-printing: ink application, stenciling and printing methods through developing and implementing their own designs.

 

Wednesdays • Anatomy Drawing
Students will focus on drawing human anatomy down to the bones, muscles with related anatomical details, features, and proportions.

 

Thursdays • Mural Painting
In this class students will learn the large-scale painting techniques of layout and composition along with color relationships, and paint application.
