Eilesse Sorbonne is awarded the 2005 State Visual Art Sterling Scholar. Ariane Mates, and Laura Clarke are awarded Visual Art Sterling Scholar runners-up. All three are Visual Art Institute students.

Visual Art Institute alumnus Matt Armstrong along with three other Utahns give claymation a digital makeover. Matt is an important part of Dream Seeker Animation Studios and will help to pitch to Warner Bros., Dreamworks, and Disney.

Faculty member Lenka Konopasek paintings are on exhibit at the Atrium Gallery at the Salt Lake City Public Library. The Reception will be Jan. 6, 6:30-8:30 pm. The show ends February 13th.

Creativity leads to sensitivity, a fresh way of looking at the world. Creative children have a natural sense of aesthetic and visual-spatial ability. They see very perceptively, things that most people totally miss.
